Performing Opera
PERFORMING OPERA is a seven-day intensive workshop programme that provides young singers with the tools and experience they need to begin their professional practice confidently. It includes a live radio performance and official presentations at the Grachtenfestival Amsterdam.

Repertoire
Opera, operetta, classical musical and music theatre, from all periods and regions.
Stucture
Before the summer school: Following the applicant selection process, the participants will pick, along with the teachers, the scenes they would like to work on. Participants will be expected to learn the chosen repertoire and read the provided literature through self-study in preparation for the summer school.
During the summer school: The first day consists of working on interpretation and physical acting. The second day focuses on musical and bodywork. The subsequent five-day intensive combines physical training, scene study, rehearsing, and performing.
Grachtenfestival
A unique feature of PERFORMING OPERA is its cooperation with the GRACHTENFESTIVAL, where singers can test their newly acquired performance skills on a live audience. The three performance opportunities (live radio broadcast, intimate performance, and final presentation) will be presented within the festival.
